Suchá Rudná (Dürrseifen) is a mountain village surrounded by forests, situated ca 6 km from the Karlova Studánka spa resort. It is an old miners' settlement on the east border of the Hrubý Jeseník mountain range, between Vrbno pod Pradědem and Bruntál. It was founded in the first half of the 16th century in the surroundings of the „Gold Deer“ mine. However, the settlement in the valley is much older. During the earthworks for local water pipes, in the center of a gorge called „Soft Vein“, the remains of a gold panning weir were discovered, featuring also charcoals from a fireplace old over 3000 years. At present time the village is mainly used for recreation. The nature in the surroundings of Suchá Rudná invites to spend active family holidays. In spring it is an ideal place to watch the wakening nature, in summer you can use marked biking and hiking trails, in autumn, when Jeseníky are the most beautiful, the forests near Suchá Rudná become a true mushroom-picking paradise and in winter there are cross-country skiing trails as well as a piste with a lift for medium-skilled skiers.

Romantic, almost untouched, nature, clean air and clear mountain streams, it is all ideal for family holidays in any time of year, biking and hiking in summer, skiing in winter.
